San Antonio, Chapter 2, Saturday, Jan 30

Admiralty Park, west side of San Antonio.  Super Spot!

Played golf at The Quarry.  Beautiful day,  Great course, 70 degrees,  Bad, bad golf!

Government Canyon State Natural Area.  6 mile hike.  Which of these can be more prickly?

Mission San Jose y San Miguel de Aguayo, the site where Marie and I were married 16 years ago. A very special place.

Rich Perry, a great friend in San Antonio. I really think Marie is more fond of him than she is of me.

Myas Tex - Mex Cafe  Don't miss it!

San Antonio, Wednesday, Jan 27

We arrived here yesterday after a brief overnight stop on Galveston Island.  Below the Airstream had its first boat ride from Bolivar Peninsula to Galveston Island.  She loved the trip with no sign of seasickness.

Marie and I had lunch at the first Mexican restaurant we could find in San Antonio.  It was just as good as I remember.

Dinner last night was a most exquisite Texas dining experience at Chez Camperre.  Here the chef prepares Chops de Pork and Carrots en Glace

Today, Wednesday, we are spending part of the day at a Mercedes Benz dealer having our Sprinter heating system worked on.  Still no golf or serious sightseeing but the next few days are promising.  We will probably spend several days here.

New Orleans After 1900 Miles

We left Garwood NJ on Monday arriving in New Orleans on Thursday with a few stops in between including an overnight in Athens, Alabama with our best man, his wife and superstar daughter. On arriving in The Big Easy, we were greeted with a tornado warning lasting about 6 hours.  Fortunately, nothing materialized.

Locked & Loaded
In Garwood, our grand nieces conducted a thorough inspection of the Airstream and deemed it road worthy.  They then decided they wanted to leave with us.  With no justification, their parents said no.

Our first camping experience on our venture was rough; dinner and a Broadway show in NYC
