Tucson, Feb 10 - 14

Well, Vanessa has finally been diagnosed and a treatment prescribed.  Surgery tomorrow with a full recovery expected.

We are staying in a beautiful RV Park in northeast Tucson called Far Horizons Tucson Village.  It's got everything you could want.  There are a lot of older people here, some even as old as I am.

Today we did a 6 mile hike into Bear Canyon to Seven Falls in the Catalina Mtn. Range, followed by a narrated tour of Sabino Canyon.  This area is a 'do not miss' attraction when in Tucson.

The Roadrunner
Next stop, golf at Rolling Hills today, lunch with a high school classmate tomorrow and Saguaro National Park on Sunday.

Lunch with Tom and Joan (Chase) Calder in Tucson on Saturday.  Joan and I went to high school together in Conway, NH and had not seen each other in 50+ years.  It was as if it were only yesterday, though. We picked up right where we left off, except now the friendship extends to Tom and Marie.  We had a great visit and only wish it could have been longer.  Both Joan and Tom are very special people.  I doubt we can wait another 50 years for the next visit.

The next several photos were all taken at Saguaro National Park -- East.  We took a 4.5 mile hike here and loved it.

This is a "wash," and it has nothing to do with laundry.

We met Pedro in Tucson.  It turns out he is a cousin of Ernie's, but a much better mechanic.
By the way, Vanessa came thru her recent treatment with flying colors.

Depart Tucson tomorrow, Mon., Feb. 15 for Phoenix, Sedona, and the Grand Canyon.
